About Liza Enrich
With nearly 20 years of experience as a high school chemistry teacher, I bring deep content knowledge, proven teaching strategies, and thoughtful preparation to every student I work with. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Secondary Chemistry Education, and am actively certified to teach secondary chemistry in Washington, DC and Maryland.
I have taught all levels of chemistry—including on-level, Honors, AP, and IB—and understand how students build understanding over time. Because of my background as a classroom teacher, I don’t just help students “get through” an assignment; I focus on developing the skills and confidence they need to succeed throughout the year and beyond.
What Sets My Tutoring Apart
Individualized preparation for every student
Sessions are planned in advance based on the student’s course, curriculum, and current challenges.
Customized materials and practice
I create and assign targeted practice problems, review packets, and skill-building exercises tailored to each student’s needs.
Concept-focused teaching
Sessions emphasize understanding why chemistry works, not just how to get an answer.
Adaptable instruction
My experience as a classroom teacher has given me extensive practice working with a wide range of learners, allowing me to adjust instruction to meet individual student needs.
Long-term academic support
Many students work with me on an ongoing basis, often meeting weekly or biweekly throughout the school year.
